This is a great tour that offers an opportunity to see both Sharjah and Ajman together in a day. Sharjah and Ajman are both emirates of UAE and located within driving distance of Dubai.
Sharjah is only 20 minutes drive from Dubai and known as the ‘City of Culture’ too. It is also a center for museums and artists and people visiting Dubai come here to experience its culture and heritage. Ajman is the smallest of the seven emirates of UAE and located a short distance northeast of Sharjah, famous for its fishing and dhow building industries.
The tour to Sharjah starts from the cultural square and Majarah Souk with its intricate mosaics and golden dome, a very popular place among the locals. Another place to see in Sharjah is Naboodah House, a 150 year old family house that has now been converted into a museum where you could see the original Sharjah settlement and traditional coffee shops and try mint tea. In the Islamic Museum, you will get to see some interesting aspects of the Islamic culture.
During the tour you will also see the Al Hisn Fort, the traditional residence of the ruling family of Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr Al Qassimi. Along with this, you will be taken to the Souk Al Arsah (Courtyard Souk) which is one of the oldest popular souks in the UAE.
The tour then continues to Central Market, well known as the Blue Souk where you will find a huge variety of carpets, jewelry and handicrafts. Opposite the souk stands the majestic King Faisal Mosque and the Pearl Monument, symbol of the UAE Federation.
From there onwards, the tour moves to Ajman where first stop is the enchanting Ajman Museum housed in an ancient fort giving insight into lifestyle of people brought by oil. During the Ajman tour, you will also be taken to the beautiful Ajman beach and gold souk where you will find same great collection of gold jewelry. At the end of the Sharjah Ajman tour, you will be dropped back to your hotel or place of residence.
